Upholding strict standards for food safety and quality assurance is not just a priority, it's our promise to our customers.Job Purpose:To maintain regulatory compliance at our food manufacturing facility at all stages of food production, emphasizing a steadfast commitment to food safety through rigorous sanitation practices.Key Responsibilities:1. Direct supervise and manage all employees engaged in cleaning and sanitation to assure effective, efficient cleaning of the facility during and after processing hours.2. Establish and adhere to cleaning time frames for each area, managing sanitation overtime judiciously and justifying any extensions as necessary.3. Handle recruitment processes including interviewing, hiring, and termination; manage employee relations and retention, and consult with management on personnel matters.4. Ensure employees are fulfilling their respective job descriptions accurately using the appropriate tools.5. Facilitate cross-training initiatives to foster a versatile workforce capable of filling in or backing up as necessary.6. Mentor, develop, and train staff, encouraging continuous growth and improvement.7. Collaborate with the Production Manager to conduct timely employee reviews, incorporating their insights and information.8. Manage the operations and staffing of the equipment washroom during and post-production hours.9. Ensure that sanitation technicians adhere to the established SOPs, maintaining the cleanliness of production equipment both internally and externally on a daily basis.10. Verify the accurate completion and documentation of sanitation tasks by personnel.11. Conduct regular audits of sanitation technicians' adherence to SOPs, providing retraining when necessary.12. Oversee the selection and ordering process for cleaning chemicals and equipment, including shop supplies like towels, floor cleaning agents, PPE, and other cleaning materials.13. Monitor and adjust cleaning chemical usage as required, maintaining accurate documentation.14. Manage waste disposal and compactor maintenance; oversee the recycling of materials such as cardboard, plastic, and metal; and ensure the functionality of the trash ozone air sanitizer during warm seasons.15. Respond promptly to emergency spills, coordinating efficient clean-up procedures.16. Coordinate and schedule pest control services as required.17. Secure the facility at the end of workdays, activating alarms and verifying the appropriate settings and temperatures are in place.Competencies:Musthave experience in sanitizing in food production areas.Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.Knowledge of principles and methods for training and teaching staff.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
