Don's Prepared Foods is the leading manufacturer on the East Coast of prepared gourmet deli salads, gourmet cream cheese spreads, dips, entr--e's and more.Don's is a family-owned business and manufactures over 130 products spanning across its three brands Don's Salads, Melanie's Medleys and Artisan Deli. Don's is located in Schwenksville, PA and is a ready-to-eat production facility. We are currently looking for a candidate to join our Production Department as a Cook.Start time is 3am Monday to Friday.Job responsibility:Make sure all ingredients that require cooking, blanching, and chilling (using steam jacketed kettles in large batches) are done in a manner that protects food safety, meets all Critical Control Points (CCP's), and make sure they are documented properly.Prepare, cook/chill and properly label the food ingredients used in the production of the Don's Salads product line.Follow internal recipes and production procedures to maintain the quality.Defrost all ingredients necessary for the following days production.Thoroughly clean and sanitize the kitchen especially for allergens between cooks and at the end of the day. Ensure all USDA, FDA, SQF and HACCP regulations are fulfilled daily.Competencies:Must have cooking knowledge and terminology. Ability to follow recipes and understand portions.Ability to cook foods to appropriate temperatures.Ability to weigh and read a scale accurately. Ability to perform and understand basic math calculations and document production using company computer system.Excellent attention to detail and organization.Requirements Must be able to lift 40 to 50 pounds consistently.Employee stands for long periods of time.Cook room is hot, production area is 34 to 38 degrees. -We offer an excellent benefit package:
