Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
M.S. or B.S. with 1-3 years of design, mechanical testing, and method development experience

Required Skills:

Analytical engineering and mechanical testing experience
Lab-based experimentation and troubleshooting skills
Experience with test method development and validation
3D CAD (e.g. SolidWorks), fixture prototyping, force/tension/compression testing
Strong documentation and Good Documentation Practices

Preferred:

Familiarity with medical device development and FDA/ISO standards (ISO 13485, 14971, 11040)
Use of instruments such as Instron, Keyence/Cognex, Vision Systems, Microscopes
Understanding of device design, risk assessments, and design control documentation

Responsibilities:

Perform mechanical testing and functional evaluation of device/combination product components
Develop and qualify novel test methods and fixtures for drug delivery systems
Conduct design verification, stability, and validation testing
Interpret data and recommend improvements to design or testing approach
Work hands-on in a lab environment and collaborate with device development teams

Comments/Special Instructions:
Must haves: Analytical engineering, mechanical testing, lab experiment experience, method development and validation.
