We are an association of eight YMCA's serving Chester County. Our mission is to nurture the potential of every child, promote healthy living, and foster social responsibility through life-changing programs for all. We are seeking a new Aquatics Coordinator to join our team. Your role will be to maximize the development of Lifeguard and/or instructional programs to address the needs and safety of members. These programs could include but are not limited to, preschool, youth, adult, adapted swim, private swim instruction, and our Safety Around Water programming. In addition, the incumbent will assist with Aquatics summer camp programming and work in relation to safety and risk to enhance lifeguard and/or swim lesson staffing. The Aquatic Coordinator will ensure the aquatics experience is safe, fun, and enjoyable for members and program participants. The Aquatic Coordinator will assist the Aquatic Director to hire, train, schedule, and supervise lifeguards and/or swim instructors. Additionally, the Coordinator is expected to work hands-on lifeguarding and/or swim instruction and with any aquatic programs when needed and fulfill general building director duties as assigned. As a member of the Aquatics department, you will work with Directors, lifeguards and other staff members and report to our Aquatic Director. What You Will Do: Act as the lead contact for all lifeguards and or swim instructors. Ensure there is adequate staffing coverage in Lifeguards and/or swim instructors to provide a welcoming and safe member experience Instruct, assign, and provide feedback to lifeguards and/or swim instructors in the performance of their duties Ensure that lifeguard and/ or swim instructor team members follow established procedures consistent with the training they receive. Educate members and staff about facility rules and regulations. Lead in-service training for lifeguards and/or swim instructors. Maintain accurate pool records. Salary range for this position is $15.00 - $17.00 per hour (plus bonus/commission).
