sustainability efforts. Job Summary The VP, Product Management and
Strategic Marketing, Elastomer and Primary Containment is
responsible for shaping West’s product portfolio and turning
strategic plans into measurable results. This role leads the
Product Management, Strategic Marketing, and Transformation teams,
with full profit and life cycle accountability for managing
products from development through retirement. Key responsibilities
include defining target customer segments, shaping the value
proposition, positioning products effectively, and delivering
strong go-to-market plans. Success in this role also depends on
close collaboration with cross-functional partners, including
Supply Chain, Operations, R&D, Sales, and Finance, to ensure
strategies are practical, well-resourced, and executed flawlessly.
The ideal leader combines deep knowledge of the industry with the
ability to turn market and customer insights into smart, practical
decisions. They are equally comfortable setting strategy and
working hands-on with teams to drive execution. This leader ensures
strategies translate into tangible business results through
collaboration, outcome-focus and action. In addition, it is
critical that this leader clearly communicates the target market
segment needs and opportunities to R&D and Corporate Strategy
to inform organic and inorganic growth opportunities. As the leader
of the Product, Marketing, and Transformation teams, this
individual will actively participate and be a part of the
Elastomers and Primary Containment (E&PC) Leadership Team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead the global strategy for
West’s components portfolio, including elastomers, closures,
primary containment, and packaging, ensuring alignment with
customer needs, market trends, and business goals. Guide the
Product Managers to manage and operate their respective products
cross functionally responsible for the growth and profitability of
their portfolio. Develop and manage product roadmaps for new
launches, lifecycle updates, pricing, and retirements to keep the
portfolio strong and competitive. Partner closely on these efforts
with commercial and integrated operations functions. Guide, coach,
and develop team members, building skills and preparing future
leaders within West. Create a work environment where people work
well together, share ideas, and take ownership for results. Set a
clear direction for the Product Management and Strategic Marketing
teams and motivate people to deliver on goals. Build and carry out
market growth plans based on customer feedback, industry trends,
competitive positioning, therapeutic area needs, and solid business
analysis. Develop offerings with value propositions, and lead
product pricing, positioning and brand strategy in partnership with
commercial and marketing teams. Work closely with Operations,
Supply Chain, and Quality to align manufacturing and sourcing with
product plans, cost targets, and quality standards. Work closely
with Procurement, R&D, Quality and Sales to manage the change
control process associated with raw materials, equipment, etc., and
how we determine and communicate impacts to the customers. Stay
abreast of changing industry regulations to ensure our products
meet all requirements and also where applicable we can leverage
those regulations to grow our business through product
differentiation. Identify and lead external partnerships, including
licensing, acquisitions, and distribution, to strengthen market
presence and capabilities. Lead strategic and financial planning
for the components business, including forecasting, investment
decisions, and performance tracking. Support global sales and key
customer relationships by sharing portfolio insights and helping
address customer needs. Work with internal teams and technology
partners to launch new products and improve capabilities across the
portfolio. Guide the Transformation Leader to assist their efforts.
Education Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in a related discipline
or equivalent experience Work Experience Minimum 15 years of
experience building and scaling global businesses involving complex
manufacturing processes and diverse products and customer
portfolios. Able to work on-site at our Exton, PA headquarters, for
a minimum of three days per week, with additional on-site days as
needed or requested. Proven leadership experience in highly
regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals, food, or cosmetics.
Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and motivate diverse,
high-performing teams across global locations. Strong commercial
acumen with a track record of both building businesses and
executing cross-functional product strategies. Progressive
leadership roles in Product Management, Strategic Marketing, or
Business Development. Able to comply with the companys SOPs, Code
of Conduct, as well as safety and quality policies at all times.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Background in supply
chain, operations or process/manufacturing engineering. Experience
leading global teams and working across cultures. Demonstrated
knowledge of injectable drugs component and containment market
trends. Able to support and contribute in Lean Sigma programs and
activities towards delivery of the set target. Ability to
communicate and collaborate effectively with a variety of internal
and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, Board
members, and colleagues. Excellent verbal and written communication
skills to effectively convey ideas, negotiate, and influence
stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Ability to listen,
partner, and team with other leaders on decisions and gain
credibility with the leadership team and other leaders by
consistently delivering business-oriented advice in a timely
fashion. Sees the big picture, connects the dots, and creates
strategies to achieve the competitive advantage; can see the
possibilities, defines the map to get there and translates actions
into meaningful value. Takes advantage of opportunities to build
strategic relationships to achieve a specific outcome. Ability to
multitask, prioritize effectively, and work under time constraints.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and
interpret data, documents, and information. Ability to maintain
confidentiality and manage conflict professionally. Travel
Requirements 20%: Up to 52 business days per year Physical
Requirements Sedentary-Exerting up to 10lbs/4kgs of force
occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or
constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects,
including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of
