      This is a full-time position. Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 8-4 or as defined by the school.

      Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.
      • Manages all day-to-day tasks involved in payroll operations, including changes, garnishments, proper retention of backup for all changes, etc.
      • Uses HRIS to run payroll
      • Inputs various data into HRIS
      • Adds additional pay to payroll runs including stipends, PTO payouts, severance, etc.
      • Auditing payroll, procedures, and process to simplify and improve for accuracy
      • Provides outside or internal reporting - weekly and monthly payroll reports to be pulled and distributed
      • Responds and communicates directly with employees via the general payroll inbox
      • Works closely with HR staff and other school leaders towards continuous process improvements on all payroll functions
      • Gathers information from all stakeholders to ensure payroll is ran with most updated information possible
      • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential
      • Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
      • Other Payroll functions that may be necessary, including:
        • Terminations
        • Pay Changes / Status Changes
        • Prorations
        • Child Support
        • Garnishments
        • Multi State Compliance
        • Assists supervisors with reviewing timecards and acts as final reviewer of timecards
        • Assists in retirement plan reporting (PSERS and 403b)
        • Provides updates to procedures and policies as related to payroll
        • Provides proposed solutions to increase payroll processing efficiency and accuracy
        • Acts as backup to benefits HR Generalist
        • Other duties as assigned Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has no regular supervisory responsibilities.

          Required MINIMUM Qualifications:
          • High School diploma AND
          • 2(+) Years Experience with processing 200(+) employee payroll
          • OR Equivalent combination of education and experience Preferred Certificates and Licenses
            • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) Minimum Required Skill Set
              • Great organizational and time management skills
              • Strong written and verbal communication skills
              • Adaptable technology skills
              • Experience using search engines (internet) for research projects
              • Experience using an HR information system
              • Demonstrated competencies with general technology, Microsoft Office Platforms (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.), Google Platforms, Zoom, etc.
              • All clearances and background checks as required to work in a Pennsylvania public school Work Environment

                • This is a flexible position with opportunities for in-office or remote work options. The noise level in the office is usually moderate (computers, printers, light foot traffic).
                • This position will include limited travel and will include limited overnight travel. This is estimated to be less than 10% of the time. Travel will be required for community events, PD and state testing.
