Job Description:
MedStar Health, a leader in patient-first healthcare in the
D.C.-Maryland-Virginia area, is seeking a Clinical Informatics
Nurse Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in
enhancing the quality of patient care through the integration of
health care technologies. The Specialist will be responsible for
designing, implementing, and maintaining clinical information
systems to improve clinical operations and outcomes. This position
offers a unique opportunity to impact patient care directly,
ensuring our technology solutions are effectively integrated and
utilized across our healthcare services. Evaluate and optimize the
functionality of clinical information systems. Collaborate with
healthcare professionals to discern clinical process improvements
needs. Train and support staff in the efficient use of healthcare
technology solutions. Monitor the use of clinical informatics
applications to ensure effective implementation and use. Liaise
between clinical teams and IT to ensure system compatibility with
clinical needs. Lead projects for the implementation of new
technologies in the clinical setting. Assess and respond to user
feedback and incorporate it into system refinement. Proficiency in
clinical information systems like Cerner or Epic. Strong
understanding of patient care processes. Ability to train and
support non-technical users. Excellent problem-solving and
analytical skills. Strong project management abilities. Effective
communication and interpersonal skills. Medical Insurance Dental
Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Registered Nurse
(RN) licensure required. Certification in Nursing Informatics
(e.g., ANCC Informatics Nursing Certification) preferred.
