A nursing opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with expertise in Operating Room care, specifically with cardiac experience. This contract position involves working 8-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and includes a mandatory on-call rotation that requires availability during nights and weekends. Qualifications and Desired Experience: - Current and valid New Jersey RN license - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA) upon hire and maintained thereafter - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications within 30 days of hire and maintained thereafter - Minimum one year of perioperative nursing experience or extensive on-the-job training - Certification in Operating Room Nursing (CNOR) preferred - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred - Experience in pre-operative and post-operative care Responsibilities: - Provide direct and indirect peri-operative nursing care to patients ranging from neonates to older adults - Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR team members to ensure quality patient outcomes - Direct and guide OR technicians and personnel while upholding professional nursing standards - Coordinate patient care efforts with other departments to support continuous, efficient patient flow - Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulations, and quality improvement initiatives - Participate actively in performance improvement, staff meetings, and educational in-services - Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to other team members Schedule and On-Call Requirements: - Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM shifts - Mandatory on-call rotation includes at least one weekday night call per week (11:00 PM7:00 AM) and one weekend call every five weekends (24-hour coverage) - Employees must respond and arrive on-site within 30 minutes when called This contract role offers the chance to contribute expert nursing care in a fast-paced perioperative environment with a focus on cardiac procedures.
