Who We Are Located in Plymouth Meeting and Ambler, PA, Hickory Veterinary and Specialty Hospital is a multi-service animal hospital offering general practice, specialty services, 24/7 emergency care, boarding, grooming, daycare, and rehabilitation. What You’ll Do As a General Practice Technician , you’ll split your time between both our Plymouth and Ambler locations, supporting doctors in GP appointments and learning GP surgery skills. If you have GP nursing experience, we can train you in surgery — no prior surgical background required (though it’s a plus, especially in dentals). In this role, you will: Perform outpatient and inpatient care, including triage, diagnostics, treatments, and discharges Assist in GP surgeries such as spays, neuters, mass removals, and dentals Administer and monitor anesthesia (training provided if needed) Perform laboratory work, radiographs, medication administration (IV, IM, SQ, oral) Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients Maintain accurate medical records and patient logs (SOAPs) Support surgery prep, instrument care, and post-op monitoring Ensure exam rooms, surgical suites, and treatment areas remain clean and well-stocked Anticipated Schedule Full-time position , 4–5 days per week Hours vary between Monday–Sunday, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM Compensation $18–$24/hr, depending on experience and licensure $5,000 sign-on bonus What’s In It for You?
