healthiest lives.Job DescriptionPURPOSE OF POSITIONUnder the
supervision of the Director of Women's Health Services (WHS),
provides outpatient antepartum, postpartum, family planning, and
gynecological care in accord with approved ACOG protocols. The NP
will render care under a formal collaborative agreement with a
physician. This position is a Full-Time opportunity, with no call.
Weekend or evening coverage may be assigned at the discretion of
the supervisor.Areas Of ResponsibilitiesProvision of direct patient
care in area of specialty (Women's Health / OB-GYN).Summary Of
Duties And Responsibilities
- Plans and providers health care for women as appropriate for
the level of training and scope of practice.
- Establishes a complete database concerning the patient through
history-taking, physical examination, and ordering/interpreting
appropriate laboratory data/tests.
- Assesses the status of the patient, develops and implements a
plan of care with the patient during the antepartum and postpartum
periods.
- Provides guidance and education for patients and families
concerning health maintenance, family planning, and prenatal and
postpartum care, including physical and emotional support.
- Seeks medical consultation for patients as appropriate for
complications or whenever there are deviations from expected
standards of practice and clinical practice guidelines.
- Performs ongoing review of care, including accurate and
complete evaluation and documentation in the medical record and
prompt review of laboratory results.
- Provides contraceptive services and guidance and evaluation and
treatment for minor gynecological conditions.
- Performs advanced practice skills according to prior training
and demonstrated competencies.
- Serves as clinician champion for interdepartmental
collaboration with the divisions of Pediatrics and WIC on
postpartum and newborn care.
- Works together to provide comprehensive, personalized care for
all New Yorkers and commit to providing a person-centered care

Qualifications
- A valid New York State license and current registration to
practice as a Registered Professional Nurse issued by the New York
State Department of Education (NYSED); and
- Current certification to practice as a Nurse Practitioner
issued by the NYSED; and
- Holds, or obtains through facility orientation, a valid and
current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the
American Heart Association (AHA).Department

- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Master's Degree in Nursing.
- Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in field.
- Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in the state of New
York.Knowledgeable In
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Prior experience in antenatal care required
- Experience with LARC insertion / removal is preferred but not
required
- Spanish fluency is preferred but not required
- Commitment to person-centered careEquipment/Machines

Office SuiteYEARS OF EXPERIENCE: At least 1 year of experience in
