Job Description:
Job Summary: -
The primary responsibility of this position is to assist in
providing x-ray care of the surgical patient in the OR suite.
-
DUTIES:
To utilize knowledge of radiology equipment and supplies needed
while giving indirect patient care.
To perform the tasks, including: - -Assists in set up of x-ray
equipment in correlation with scrub tech and nurse in room; Assists
with preparation, transportation, and monitoring of patients;
Handles equipment correctly and checks for cleanliness and proper
working condition; Maintains sterile field throughout the surgical
procedure; Performs room clean up following procedures as well as
general housekeeping duties; Provides assistance in emergency
situations as directed.
To function efficiently as a member of the surgical team.
1. - - - - - - - - Provides assistance to team members, physicians,
and anesthesia personnel as needed (i.e., reliability, initiative,
work relations, training needs.)
2. - - - - - - - - Reviews physicians' preference cards and updates
as needed.
3. - - - - - - - - Assists with stocking, preparation, and waste
management of supplies.
4. - - - - - - - - Performs other related duties as assigned
To support quality activities.
1. - - - - - - - - Develop communication skills and promote
departmental relationships to ensue continuity of care.
2. - - - - - - - - Participates in on-going committee and other
educational programs to enhance patient care.
3. - - - - - - - - Maintain CPR certification.
Required Skills:
High School graduate or have completed a GED
Must be x-ray certified
At least one year experience
Must have the ability to work independently as well as function
within a team
Basic knowledge of surgical technique; assist in providing care for
the surgical patient
Possess the ability to handle stress.
