FunctionThis position is involved with the development, preparation, analysis, interpretation, and maintenance of all accounting records and financial reports. This includes responsibility for the timely and accurate preparation of the Credit Union and subsidiaries financial statements and regulatory reports.ResponsibilitiesPrepares consolidated financial statements including balance sheets, profit, loss, and subsidiary statements.Lead the month-end close process.Responsible for monthly variance analysis comparing actual results to prior periods and budgeted amounts; partners with other departments regarding GL accounts and process workflowsPartner with other departments to maintain clean GL reconciliations and efficient processesResponsible for certain general ledger account reconciliations using Excel and BlacklineCoordinates the completion of the NCUA Quarterly 5300 report and ensures accuracyReviews and analyzes general ledger account balances; verifies accuracy and makes recommendations for correctionsResponsible for the accounting of Credit Union investments, derivatives, and all Treasury related functionsEvaluates and improves current processesProvides training and guidance to other Accounting staffAssists the Director of Accounting in the preparation of periodic miscellaneous reports.Assists with the internal and external auditors/examinersOther duties as assignedQualifications and Education Requirements3-5 years Accounting experience.
